    This is a Hydrophane Clarity Changing Opal. When inserted into tap water, this opal takes on a true Hydrophane phenomenon. It will temporally add weight, and becomes very transparent. These photos show both versions. When dry - somewhat cloudy, after dropped into tap water for 1-2 hours, very clear. Returns to normal in 10-15 minutes.
