TANZANITE: A purplish blue gemstone that appears very blue in incandescent light.  The most desired color is very Dark Blue with Neon Purple and Red highlights.  Bi-colors having both Blue & Green hues are also desired, as they are very RARE to find.  Tanzanites come from only one region of the world, Tanzania, East Africa.  The mine, located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro is now CLOSED.
